Have An Irrational Fear Of Spiders? You Can Overcome It

Although it is typical for all people to have fears, suffering from a phobia is a more significant problem. A phobia is an illogical fear that is seemingly beyond one’s control. Phobias are classified as a type of anxiety disorder, and often trigger nervousness and panic attacks in a person. When an individual has a serious phobia, they get so desperate to stay away from their fear that it affects their daily lives and their ability to enjoy life.

Among the most common phobias are arachnophobia, the fear of spiders, acrophobia, the fear of heights, and claustrophobia, a fear of enclosed spaces. Arachnophobia is the most common phobia. Although lots of people are afraid of spiders, those with arachnophobia possess an abnormal amount of fear. Even a photograph or realistic drawing of an arachnid can make some people nervous. Some arachnophobes have panic attacks or get hysterical at the sight of an arachnid. They might do anything in order to avoid a spider; for instance, people with serious arachnophobia might try to jump out of a moving vehicle if they see a spider next to them.

Sufferers often feel ashamed of their unrestrained reactions. Other people and even the sufferers themselves often see their behavior as irrational. Their fear of spiders and their reaction to the creatures may cause other problems as well. Arachnophobia and other phobias may lead to another phobia known as agoraphobia.

Agoraphobia may arise when an individual is afraid of being in any potentially stressful location or situation. For an individual with arachnophobia, this may mean avoiding any place a spider could be living, unfamiliar places, and even resisting leaving the house or going outdoors altogether. This can seriously disturb a person’s regular. A person may be worried about having panic attacks or humiliating him or herself by losing control. People often find themselves chronically stressed out over these worries.

People with phobias may struggle with the inability to control their fears. This is because the root of the phobia exists at the unconscious level of the mind; so conscious willpower or effort cannot work to control a phobia. A phobia is most effectively treated at the unconscious level, which is why Ericksonian hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques are the most effective phobia treatments.

There are multiple different hypnotherapy programs available for curing phobias. Most use traditional forms of hypnosis that depend on post-hypnotic suggestions with highly specific wording to work against fears. These days, post-hypnotic suggestions often do not work because most people have a tendency to question everything. And since today’s population tends to do the exact opposite of what they are told, they resist post-hypnotic suggestions and experience a polar response.

Ericksonian hypnotherapy is different from traditional hypnosis because it uses indirect suggestions that are hidden in conversation. That makes them difficult for the conscious mind to pick out and reject, so they are more likely to make it through to the unconscious mind and be accepted.

The process typically starts by using hypnosis to make you feel very calm and receptive. Then, instead of simply “telling” your unconscious what to do, Ericksonian techniques use metaphors and stories to direct your mind into a desirable way of thinking.

NLP treatments work by pinpointing the particular thought process that generates an extreme phobia and using it to eliminate the fear. Because of this, NLP can be used on all phobias.

People respond better to the combination of NLP and Ericksonian techniques than to traditional hypnosis because instead of receiving orders, the unconscious mind is convinced to follow a new, more logical line of thought. These hypnotherapy programs are especially effective for people who are logical, critical thinkers and people who think independently.

You do not need a different hypnosis program for each different phobia. One program that includes numerous sessions containing the ideal combination of Ericksonian hypnotherapy and NLP techniques can treat any phobia. Furthermore, a good program will work for anyone. The combination of unique techniques in several different sessions guarantees success for anyone who uses them. By following each step of the program, people often amaze themselves at how quickly they overcome their fears.

Ericksonian hypnotherapy and NLP focus on turning irrational fears and behaviors into calm, collected responses. For many people struggling with disabling fears such as arachnophobia, this is a life-changing treatment. Hypnotherapy is an effective tool for overcoming anxieties and fears to live a better life.
