Camping Stoves: All The Comforts Of Home

I remember the days of camping with dear old mom and dad; we would pitch our tent in the local camp grounds and get settled in for the weekend, our cooler overflowing with pop, beer, and hotdogs and a supply of doughnuts in the picnic basket to eat for breakfast each morning.

Cooking on the fire was more of a hassle than it was worth, so we literally survived on a diet of hotdogs and doughnuts for the entire weekend. Even though this sounds ideal to any young child at first, the joy of roasting a hotdog over the open flame while trying to keep from getting eaten by mosquitoes becomes a little tiring. Bacon and eggs will look tempting to even the pickiest of eaters, because the doughnuts have become stale and are tempting to no one.

Things have certainly changed as the RV’s pull into the camp grounds these days sporting a full kitchen and DVD players, not too mention the air condition units and full size beds. Camping has become a luxury for some, no more roughing it unless you really want to.

So you like to rough it, but like comfort. You do not have to purchase an expensive RV in order to enjoy the amenities available to campers. Campers can now purchase air mattresses and ceiling fans for their tents. Even cooking outdoors is easier by using a camp stove.

Available in many sizes and styles, camping stoves have really changed from the old days. They now make it possible to cook on a campsite as easily as you would at home. When I set up camp nowadays, I come prepared with a supply of steak, patties, vegetables and other things that I’d also cook at home.

My regular camping stove has two burners and each gives off plenty of heat. It’s portable, easy to clean, great for frying or grills a perfect sirloin. It’s my best friend if my children start acting up because they ‘re hungry. Even my youngest, who is a pretty picky eater doesn’t find fault with this portable stove that works as well mine at home. Don’t get me wrong. The kids will want one meal of hot dogs cremated over an open fire and I’ve been know to sneak a meal of fast food into camp if its just too hot to cook.

Campers can now purchase air mattresses and ceiling fans for their tents. Even cooking outdoors is easier by using a camp stove. Modern camping stoves make cooking around the camp about as simple and easy as it is from home. These stoves are available in numerous sizes, styles and models to affordably fit almost any lifestyle. Of the many stoves available, one of my favorites has a grill and two burners. It’s portable, and grills a steak perfectly and the kids can still char broil their dogs. Cooking, hamburgers or even chicken nuggets will always make for a happier camping experience.
